World Environment Day
05 June 2025The Society for Environmental Conservation celebrated World Environment Day by raising awareness on waste management and plantation. The event focused on educating people and students about household waste collection, segregation, and composting of biodegradable waste.
The programme involved active participation from village communities, students from government schools, and NGOs. Additionally, plantation activities were carried out in the villages of Sankal and Tanda in Phanda Block, Bhopal District, Madhya Pradesh.

Plantation and Environmental Conservation Programme
The Society for Environmental Conservation (SEC), Bhopal, organized a comprehensive Plantation and Environmental Conservation Programme. The event was graced by the presence of Smt. Malti Rai, Hon'ble Mayor of Bhopal, who actively participated in the plantation drive alongside Dr. Brijesh Sharma, President of SEC, Bhopal.
Officers of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, employees, and members of the local community also joined hands in this important initiative. The programme focused on the plantation of native and eco-friendly tree species with the dual objective of improving the city's green cover and creating awareness about environmental conservation.
The participation of civic authorities, environmentalists, and local residents highlighted the spirit of collective responsibility toward ecological balance. This initiative by SEC, Bhopal reflects its continued commitment to promoting sustainable urban development while encouraging public participation in environmental conservation.
