World Environment Day
05 June 2024Society for Environmental Conservation has celebrated the World Environment Day by motivating the people and students about waste management and plantation. Our activities included disseminating the knowledge and techniques involved in collection of house hold waste, their segregation and also demonstration to convert biodegradable waste into compost.
Programme on this was organized by involving people from villages, students from Government School, NGOs etc. We have also conducted plantation activities at village Bilkhiriya, of Block Phanda of District Bhopal Madhya Pradesh.

Inauguration Programme Conducted by SEC, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh):
On 06 January, 2023, the Society for Environmental Conservation (SEC), Bhopal, proudly inaugurated an aquaponics unit in Bilkhiriya village, Phanda Block, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This significant event was led by the organization's President, Dr. Brijesh Sharma, who emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in rural development.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests. The Chief Guest, (DGM) of NABARD, Bhopal, Smt. Nidhi Sharma, highlighted the potential of aquaponics as a tool for community empowerment. Other notable attendees included Shri Shailendra Padiyar (DDM) Bhopal, Shri Akhilesh Verma (RO), and Smt. Alpana Jain, who expressed their support for the initiative. Local leaders, such as Shri Sarpanch Mishri Lal and Deputy Sarpanch Shri Paramjeet Singh, along with members of the Self-Help Group and other villagers, actively participated in the event, underscoring the community's enthusiasm for this project.
This initiative represents a crucial step toward enhancing the livelihoods of the people in Bhopal District by leveraging aquaponics technology. By integrating the cultivation of Azolla pinnata as a natural food source, the project aims to provide sustainable income opportunities and foster economic self-reliance within the community. The successful implementation of this bio- integrated system holds promise for replicating similar models across other rural areas, promoting environmental conservation and social upliftment. Plantation and Environmental Conservation Programme
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Brijesh Sharma, President of SEC, who stressed the urgent need for integrating green practices with rural development to ensure long-term sustainability. The programme focused on promoting tree plantation as a community-driven activity, encouraging villagers to actively participate in safeguarding the ecological balance. Native and climate-resilient species were planted with the objective of enhancing local biodiversity, improving soil fertility, and mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Smt. Nidhi Sharma, DGM NABARD, Bhopal, as the Chief Guest, who emphasized that environmental conservation is a key pillar of rural prosperity. Other distinguished guests, including Shri Shailendra Padiyar (DDM, Bhopal), Shri Akhilesh Verma (RO), and Smt. Alpana Jain, extended their wholehearted support and encouragement for the initiative. Local representatives, including Sarpanch Shri Mishri Lal and Deputy Sarpanch Shri Paramjeet Singh, along with members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and villagers, actively participated by planting saplings and pledging to protect them. Their involvement reflected the communityโs strong commitment to nurturing green cover and preserving natural resources.

Programme Celebrations of Culture
Garba Celebration: The Garba Celebration Programme was joyfully conducted and organized by SEC on October 5, 2024, at Mansa Devi Dham Ground, Ashoka Garden, Bhopal. The event brought together participants and spectators in a vibrant display of traditional dance, music, and cultural expression. Dressed in colorful attire, attendees enthusiastically performed Garba, celebrating the spirit of unity, festivity, and Indian heritage. The programme not only highlighted cultural richness but also fostered a sense of community and joy, making it a memorable evening of togetherness and celebration.
